Douglas L. Lashley is of counsel to Cowie & Mott, P.A. He is a graduate of George Mason University (1973). A real estate and environmental lawyer, Mr. Lashley has 30 years of experience in commercial litigation, sustainable development, complex land use, permitting and redeployment of environmentally impaired real estate. He has handled industrial and major permit application issues on waterfront revitalization, brownfield redevelopment and wetland mitigation projects with the EPA, USACE, MD DOE, NJDEP, and PA DEP, as well as numerous County and Municipal environmental resource agencies. Mr. Lashley has also formulated innovative eco asset development strategies for solving multi stakeholder interest in land. His advice and strategic planning initiatives for conservation minded buyers and sellers has led to the conservation and redevelopment for mixed use purposes and disposition of a 92 acre site in Manheim, Pa. This site formally contained over 700,000 square feet of building improvements, wetlands and an EPA sanctioned land fill. He is an Adjunct Professor at the University of North Carolina with a focus on environmental economics and has lectured at the Environmental Law Institute, The Department of Energy National Environmental Training Institute and the Vanderbilt School of Public Policy. Mr. Lashley is a member of the Maryland Court of Appeals and a Maryland licensed real estate broker.
